Employee Relocation Program - An Introduction

Ace Relocation is here to support you throughout your entire Employer-Sponsored Relocation. Your Ace Relocation Move Coordinator will address any questions, concerns, or issues you have throughout the process.

Below is some key information about the primary stages of your relocation. Familiarizing yourself with this information will help make your relocation as smooth as possible. If you have any additional questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your Move Coordinator. Thank you and happy moving!

Introductory Call

It is important that you speak with your assigned Move Coordinator as soon as possible to go over the details of your household goods move. This will help ensure the details of your move are understood right from the start. If you have not already received an email from your Move Coordinator requesting a day and time that is convenient for you to set up a call, you will receive it shortly.

Pre-Move Survey

After speaking with your Move Coordinator, the next step in the process is to have a pre-move survey. Our Video Survey Specialist, using a secured app on your phone or tablet, will do a virtual walk-thru with you to determine the weight of your household goods and materials needed. Once this is completed, we will be able to confirm the total number of days needed to pack and load your goods at origin as well as provide a delivery window to destination. There are a few important things you can do to ensure your pre-move survey produces an accurate understanding of your move needs, including:

  • Do a walk-through of your home on your own prior to the scheduled date.
  • Be sure to show the surveyor all closets, cabinets, drawers, attic, outside storage, etc.
  • Note any items that will not be shipped.
  • Voice concerns for special items including High-Value items.
  • Be sure to point out any hidden areas, for example, storage under stairs.
  • Point out any backyard/outdoor storage areas and other outdoor items.
  • If applicable, check with your apartment manager or HOA on any special rules or restrictions they may have for movers and advise the surveyor.

Move Dates

Move dates will be discussed during your Intro Call, which includes determining how many days will be needed to complete the packing and loading of your goods, and how long it will take to receive them at your destination.  All dates must be scheduled with your Move Coordinator. Your Move Coordinator is the only person who can schedule your move.

Think about where your goods will be delivered to your destination. Can your goods be delivered to a new residence?  Will you need storage? Your Move Coordinator can help you with these decisions. Ace has secure short-term and long-term storage if you need to store your items and it may be approved as part of your Relocation Package.

Items We May Not Be Able to Transport

Ace Relocation is committed to making your move successful, and safety is a priority. There are certain items we may not be able to load on our trucks. Please review this list of items that your driver may not be able to transport.

Not-For-Transport Items

Not-For-Transport Items—such as laptops, family photos, jewelry, and furniture you are leaving behind—need to be taken off-site or clearly separated from all other items prior to your move date. This is to ensure that Ace Relocation does not accidentally load your Not-For-Transport Items onto the truck.

High-Value Items

High-Value Items, such as artwork, antiques, silver, and crystal, need to be itemized on the High-Value Inventory and Customer Responsibilities Form and be clearly identified to your crew lead when they arrive on your move day. It is mandatory that you complete and send the High-Value Inventory and Customer Responsibilities form to your Move Coordinator prior to your move.

Packing

The Ace Relocation crew will pack your household goods for you if authorized by your company’s relocation policy. If Ace Relocation is packing your items, please do not pre-pack anything yourself as these items will not be covered in the event of damage.

Move Day

Do not make any appointments, doctor's appointments, etc., on the days your move is scheduled.  Plan on the movers being at your pick-up location all day for each day your move is scheduled. You will not want to make flight arrangements for the day of your move; any unforeseen issues could delay your completion time and the flight could be missed.
